PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL, TORONTO JOINED IN THE COMMEMORATION OF INTERNATIONAL HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE DAY

04 February 2021, Toronto, Ontario – The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto joined the Consulate General of Israel in Toronto & Western Canada in the commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day on 27 January 2021.
The Consulate General of Israel commemorated the historic event with the virtual screening of the film “The Essential Link: The Story of Wilfrid Israel” by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Yonatan Nir. The 70-minute film shines light on the life of elusive German businessman and socialite Wilfrid Israel who was instrumental in the saving of tens of thousands of Jewish lives during the Holocaust. On 3 February 2021, there was an online exclusive moderated discussion with Mr. Israel about his film.
The Philippine Consulate General shared the announcement on the virtual screening schedule to the Filipino Canadian community and its other contacts by posting it in the Consulate’s official website and Facebook page and by email blast. – END
