PR-2021-03

2 February 2021, Toronto, Ontario – On 29 January 2021, the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto joined the Information Session webinar on “How to Become a CPA in Canada” organized by the Association for Filipino Canadian Accountants (AFCA) in Toronto, in partnership with the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of Ontario. This is only one of the webinars being organized and sponsored by AFCA, not only for the personal development of its members, but also to support and mentor newly arrived fellow accountants so they can easily integrate to the Canadian system. AFCA is also reaching out to those who are still in the Philippines so they can learn about the CPA program structure in Canada – the application process and the practical experience.

Consul General Orontes V. Castro gave his Message to the organizers and participants of the webinar, immediately after the Welcome Remarks from AFCA’s President Nimfa Villaroman-Santos. The Information Session was very well-attended with 99 participants from Canada, the U.S.A., Philippines, and Malaysia, mostly young professionals interested to migrate to and exercise their profession in Canada.
