26 October 2021, Toronto, Ontario – The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto is pleased to inform that a consular team led by Consul General Orontes V. Castro conducted the Third Consular Outreach Mission in the City of Winnipeg, Ontario on 19 to 24 October 2021.
During the outreach mission, Honourable Malaya Marcelino, Filipino-Canadian MLA for Notre Dame, visited the Consular Team and the Filipino applicants at the Holiday Inn Express Winnipeg Airport Avenue, Winnipeg on 22 October 2021. In her brief remarks, MLA Marcelino thanked the Consulate General for sponsoring the Consular Outreach Missions to provide consular services and other assistance to the Filipinos in the province of Manitoba. She informed that she is focused on legislative works that will provide more job opportunities and empower the women in her riding or legislative district of Notre Dame. MLA Marcelino likewise expressed full support to the Credentials Recognition Project of the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa, with the support of the Philippine Consulates General in Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary. The Project aims to allow the Philippine-educated Filipino nurses to practice their profession in Canada.
The Overseas Filipino applicants were thankful to the consular team for undertaking the outreach mission and for providing consular and other services to Overseas Filipinos in Manitoba. The consular outreach mission was supported by the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Winnipeg.
The other members of the Consular Team were: Administrative Officer Jocelyn Roxas and Consular Assistants Marilyn Galanza, Errol Reyes, Sarah Amihan-de Guzman, Anthony Echlar, and John Dan Elijah Fajardo.
A total of 1,609 consular services were extended to Overseas Filipinos in Manitoba.
The Consulate General conducted outreach missions in the City of Winnipeg on 14-20 August, 21-26 September, and 19-24 October 2021. Another Consular Outreach Mission is scheduled in November this year in Manitoba. END-
