ANGELICA C. ESCALONA
Consul General of the Republic of the Philippines in Toronto
Ms. Angelica C. Escalona is a career diplomat of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), having joined the DFA as a Foreign Service Officer in 1996.
She assumed her duties as Consul General of the Republic of the Philippines in Toronto, Canada on 17 May 2023. The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto provides consular services in Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Western Ontario and Manitoba, and assists in the strengthening of economic and cultural ties between the Philippines and Canada.
Ms. Escalona has held various positions in the DFA Home Office in Manila and Philippine Foreign Service Posts abroad. Prior to her assumption, Ms. Escalona served as Consul General of the Republic of the Philippines in Manado, Indonesia. Her other foreign assignments include Honolulu, Tokyo and Jakarta.
An avid traveler since her youth, she studied in Japan as a Monbusho scholar, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations degree from Tsukuba University in 1995. She obtained a Master of Arts in Foreign Affairs and Trade degree from Monash University, Australia in 1999.
